The Best Winter Soccer Camps In Orlando

winter soccer camps in orlando

The club soccer season is winding down and winter break is almost here. This means that youth players all across Orlando are about to have quite a bit of available free time. One of the best ways to fill that time is by registering for one of the upcoming winter soccer camps. These camps can be great for staying active and engaged during this short offseason period. But, as the local youth soccer community continues to grow, the clear choice for you and your athlete can become harder and harder to pick.

In an attempt to help make your decision easier we have put together a list of the best winter soccer camps in Orlando for the 2020-2021 season.

Orlando City Youth Winter Camp

Orlando City’s Winter Soccer Camps are about to start! These are far and away the best choice for youth players across the city and we aren’t just saying that because we are partnered with their academy. They offer the very best to the Orlando soccer community, from their youth club to their fan experiences, and we fully support everything that Orlando City decides to do as an organization.

These camps will take place in January and February throughout the Orlando area. Players ages 5 – 12 are encouraged to attend. Training will be one day per week for either 4 or 8 weeks, depending on which option you register for. I know that one day per week doesn’t seem like much, but it is actually ideal when you consider that these athletes are in their offseason.

These weekly sessions will be lead by Orlando City’s development coaching staff and will feature both technical training and scrimmages. All aspects of soccer development will be covered. The athletes will go over passing, dribbling, shooting, and receiving skills, as well as work on their coordination and the basic principles of attacking and defending.

The 8 week winter soccer camp program will be offered at two locations, Osceola Heritage Park and Ward Park. The Osceola location is the training facility for the first team, so parents will not be allowed in and can only drop off their campers. Orlando City’s 4 week option will take place at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Lake Mary, which is home to their youth soccer club. It also happens to be where SAI Academy is located so make sure to check us out if you plan on registering!

Prodigy Soccer Training Orlando Winter Camp

Prodigy Soccer Training is a private coaching company with locations in Miami and Orlando. They provide a club neutral environment that focuses on some of the aspects of training that can be missed in a traditional team setting. Their training style is described as being a well rounded approach, focusing on quality repetitions, scenario based positional training, and a deep understanding of the fundamentals.

The club neutral nature of their program also allows for a great deal of individual training improvements. This is something that everyone here at SAI Academy fully supports, as it is the foundation of our player development philosophy.

Prodigy Soccer Training will be hosting a winter soccer camp at the end of December and we think it might be worth checking out to see if it is the right fit for your family. The event will take place across a two week period, with the Christmas holiday serving as a break between the training weeks. The camp will be held at Ward Park (Cady Way & Perth Ln, Winter Park, FL 32792), with week 1 running from December 21st – 23rd, and week 2 picking back up from December 28th – 31st. The camp costs $105 per week or $40 per day to attend.

This really does look like a great opportunity to have fun and learn during the offseason, which is why we think this is sure to be one of the best winter soccer camps in Orlando for the 2020 – 2021 season.
